Meet Susan

Dr Susan Freeman MRCP, FRCR was appointed as a Consultant Radiologist at Cambridge University Hospitals in 2008 and became the Lead Radiologist for the Gynaecology Imaging Service in 2012. Cambridge University Hospitals is a tertiary referral centre for gynaecological oncology for the East of England, as well as an accredited endometriosis centre and a centre for the treatment of mesh complications.

Dr Freeman’s clinical and research interests centre on the role of MRI in the staging and treatment stratification of cervical and endometrial tumours, the use of CT, MRI, and diffusion-weighted imaging in the diagnosis, staging, and monitoring of ovarian cancer, and the application of ultrasound and MRI in the management of endometriosis.

She has authored and co-authored numerous journal articles on female pelvic imaging and contributed chapters to both gynaecology and radiology textbooks. Dr Freeman is a committed educator with a strong interest in teaching, having delivered invited lectures in gynaecological imaging across the UK and Europe, and co-organised several national and international teaching courses and workshops.
