Meet Helena

Helena Oliveira is a Senior MRI Radiographer who qualified as a Diagnostic Radiographer in Portugal in 2015 and has since built her career in the UK healthcare system. She holds an MSc in Medical Imaging from the University of Cumbria, which underpins her dual commitment to clinical practice and research. In 2024, she was formally recognised as an MR Safety Officer, reinforcing her role in ensuring the highest standards of safety across every examination carried out at Momentm.

Helena’s dedication to advancing patient care through research was recognised internationally in 2024 when she received an award at the ISMRM/ISMRT annual meeting in Singapore for her work on abbreviated liver MRI — a field focused on developing faster, more efficient imaging protocols that reduce patient waiting time without compromising diagnostic accuracy.

She brings an international perspective and a genuine curiosity to her work, qualities that translate directly into her approach to imaging: always seeking new solutions and better ways to serve the people in her care.
