Our New MRI Scanner: Built Around You

BOOK A SCAN

We've installed a new MRI scanner at our Cambridge clinic, and while the technology inside it is genuinely impressive, what we're most pleased about is how it feels to be scanned in.

Because for most people, an MRI isn't a technical experience. It's a personal one. So here's what's changed, and what it means for you.

More Space, More Comfort

The most immediate difference is room to breathe.

Our new scanner sits within a larger suite, with generous space around the machine. It's closer to how an MRI suite feels inside a hospital, while still being a dedicated, self-contained facility on our own site.

The changing area has grown too. More space to get ready, more privacy, and more time to settle before your scan.

Our Radiographers will help you settle, speak to you throughout and give you a call buzzer should you need them.

A Spacious, Open Design

The scanner has a spacious 70cm bore, providing room around your shoulders and above your face than narrower MRI systems.

For many patients, particularly those who feel anxious or claustrophobic, this more open design can help the scanning experience feel less enclosed and more manageable.

Lighting You Can Adjust

The suite has adjustable mood lighting.

Bright and clear if that's what puts you at ease. Soft and low if you'd rather the space felt calm and dim. It's a small touch that makes a real difference to how the room feels.

Tell our radiographer what you'd prefer. It takes seconds to change.

Your Own Music, Through Spotify

You can connect your Spotify account and listen to your own playlist during your scan.

Not a generic radio station. Not whatever happens to be on. Your music.

MRI scanners make a distinctive knocking and buzzing sound while they work. Listening to something familiar gives you something to focus on, and for a lot of people it makes the whole scan feel more comfortable and more like time well spent.

Shorter Scans

The scanner uses advanced imaging technology that shortens acquisition times while maintaining excellent image quality.

In plain terms: less time lying still, and less time in the room.

Staying still is easier when scans are shorter, and clearer images first time means a smoother experience all round.

The Quality Behind the Comfort

Comfort matters, and so does the scan itself.

The new system produces high-resolution imaging across the full range of scans we offer, from musculoskeletal and sports injuries through to neurological, abdominal and pelvic imaging. Your images are reported by consultant radiologists, and your results are shared with you and your referring clinician within 48 working hours.

The comfort features sit alongside exceptional clinical quality, not in place of it.

Why This Matters to Us

Momentm Health was founded by Cambridge consultants who wanted to give patients faster access to answers.

Speed was the first priority. Experience is the ongoing one.

A scan is something you have to do, and we think it should be as calm, comfortable and straightforward as we can make it.
